How It All Began
In February 2019, a group of more than 100 visionary disaster management and climate change professionals from around the world participated in a sensitization/advocacy exercise hosted by the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science and the Association of Disaster Managers without Borders.
They began a dialogue around developing and promoting best practices that would recognize and elevate climate change adaptation and mitigation as a valued, professional discipline.
From that point on, a group of volunteers worked to establish the Association of Climate Change Professionals as a professional association dedicated to advancing the discipline of climate change and sustainable development.
