General Requirements for All Individual Grades
- Completed Application Form – ₦5,000 non-refundable
- Academic Credentials: Certified copies of degrees/certificates where applicable
- CV/Resume or Proof of Status
- Commitment: Agreement to abide by the ACCPN Code of Ethics & CPD requirements
- Payment: Membership fee for the grade applied for
A. INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP PATHWAYS
1. Student Member
SMC₦10,000/year
For undergraduates & postgraduates building a climate career early
Eligibility: Full-time HND, BSc, MSc, or PhD student in a relevant field. Valid student ID + letter from HOD/Registrar required.
Experience: Not required
Benefits: Webinars, mentorship, internship board, student chapter, 50% discount on ACCPN events. No voting rights.
Upgrade: Automatic pathway to Associate Member upon graduation + 1 year experience
2. Associate Member
ACCP₦55,000 + ₦5,000 form
Entry point for early-career professionals
Education: Minimum HND/BSc or equivalent in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Geography, Meteorology, Agriculture, Forestry, Engineering, Social Sciences, Public Health, or related field. OR Certified in sustainability/renewable energy.
Experience: 0-3 years. Acceptable: NYSC, internships, volunteering, research, NGO work.
Evidence: Certificate + 1-page statement of interest
3. Full Member
MCCP₦95,000 + ₦5,000 form
Practicing professionals with proven experience
Education: Minimum BSc in a relevant field. MSc preferred.
Experience: 3+ years verifiable practice in: climate policy, adaptation/mitigation, GHG accounting, renewable energy, EIA, sustainability consulting, research, or teaching.
Evidence: CV + 2 references + 1 project/portfolio sample
CPD: 15 hours/year minimum
4. Fellow
FCCP₦145,000 + ₦5,000 form
Senior leaders & experts
Education: MSc/PhD preferred. Exceptional BSc with 10+ years may apply.
Experience: 7+ years with significant impact: led major projects, policy input, publications, awards, or capacity building.
Evidence: Detailed CV + 3 notable achievements + 2 Fellow/Full Member endorsements
CPD: 20 hours/year + Mentor 1 Associate Member annually
B. CORPORATE/INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERSHIP PATHWAY
5. Corporate Member
CMCCP₦550,000/year
For organizations, NGOs, companies, universities, and MDAs active in climate/sustainability
Eligibility: CAC-registered entity.
Nomination: Organization nominates 2-5 staff as "Designated Representatives" with Full Member benefits.
Requirements: Application letter + CAC certificate + Profile of climate/sustainability activities
Benefits: Logo on ACCPN website, 3 free event slots/year, partnership priority, talent pool access, discounted bulk training, directory listing.
Membership Committee Review Process
- Screening: Secretariat checks completeness
- Assessment: Committee grades against criteria above
- Outcome: Approved, Downgraded, or Request for info
- Appeal: 14 days to appeal with new evidence
